Holly Leaves Cards

I've been busy pulling out my Christmas Stamps and trying to get them into one place for card making.  I had offered to make my Mom's holiday cards for her, so here are the first 2.  I tried to go with it being a CAS card, and that is always such a challenge for me!  All stamps that I've used on this card duo are from Clear Dollar Stamps. (Holly Leaves, Gift Labels, Holiday Nutcrackers)

Thanksgiving LO

Hello my paper crafting friends!  A few weeks ago I found myself the lucky winner of a holiday layout class.  It's been years since I've even attempted to make a 12 x 12 layout, and I have to say that I was so excited when Pinky posted my name as the winner!  Pinky (Cristal Hobbs) teaches classes at My Creative Classroom, along with a group of other talented ladies.  So, if you're looking to learn something new, or wanting to relearn the thought process on something you used to do, check them out and see what they're offering.

If you check out the website you'll see the error I made where the ribbon should just be on one side at the top of the layout.  When I went to do the second layout I forgot to flip it and ended up putting it on the same side.  You know how well some tape sticks?  Well I use the GlueArts tape runner on my paper projects, and it really adheres paper or embellishments permanently when you use the permatac like me.  So, I compensated on the ribbon goof and added it to both sides, moving the square with stamped image up to even things out.

I was so excited to show my family the layout when they came over on Thanksgiving, but I think they were even more excited to see that I actually worked on getting some photos scrapped!  Next week we get to work with Acrylic!  This will be a new experience for me, and I can't wait.

Challenges I'm entering:
Simon Says Stamp and Show - Thanks
Do You Stack Up - DYSU99 - Numbers
Scraptastic Club Challenge - (Farmers Market Colors)

Birthday Boy with CI Paints

Hello CI Paint fans, and Happy Thanksgiving to those of you here in the US celebrating!

For today's project I've made a card for an upcoming birthday, and tried some distressing with the Creative Inspirations Paint.  I colored this sweet image from CC Designs, and cut several die cuts using recycled cereal boxes with cardstock over the smaller pieces (the crown and birthday tag).  The frame is plain chipboard with the Onyx CI Paint directly painted on to it.  The coverage really looks as solid and shimmery either way.  I added some clear gloss over the crown (love the flecks of shimmer under that gloss!), and then stamped the Happy Birthday tag using the White Deliquesce embossing powder.   To add a bit of distressing I painted over the white lettering, with Onxy, and then dry brushed it off.  His cupcake is topped off with a bit of Carmel CI Paint, and I've just chalked around the edges of the cut image to finish it off.

CIP - Nutcracker Tag

Hi there CI Paint fans!  Kimberly here, and I'm back with a new project with Creative Inspirations Paint.  I've used three colors from the Creative Inspirations Paint line on my Nutcracker Tag that I've created with recycled chipboard (cereal box).  The background of the tag is covered in Sapphire, the snowflakes and Nutcracker's hair is Winter Frost, and his shoes are Evergreen.  I've also used Siam (SS20) Jeweled Inspirations for the snowflake centers and on the Nutcracker's hat.

CIP - Pin Cushion with Shimmer and Bling

Hi there Crafty Friends!  Kimberly here, and I'm back with a new project with CI Paint.  I've used five colors from the Creative Inspirations Paint line on my pin cushion.  The pin cushion is made from an empty ribbon spool with a plastic cap on the top covered with paper, the pins I've made with beads from my stash.  The flowers have Carmel, Winter Frost, and Fairy Dust, while I used the Green Olive and Chocolate on the leaves (they started out white).
